''The Cross of Fiddown''
Fiddown was a busy commercial village with a rail and river link to the port of Waterford. Commercial activity included the import of coal, fertiliser, and general goods and the export of fish, game, agricultural produce and livestock.
The centre of Commercial and Social activity in the village for many years. Within a stone's through of the Cross are most of the commercial bussinesses.

The new footpath links the village to Piltown.
